Jackie Shayani, DDS
For over 25 years, I’ve had the chance to truly make a difference in my patients' lives by creating a beautiful smile for them. I had the privilege of growing up in a family that has been in the medical field for generations.
In dentistry, the service I provide has immediate results, whether I am helping a patient who is in pain or improving the aesthetics of someone’s smile in order to raise their confidence and comfort. Over the years, I have given care to such a wide range of people and in return, I've received kindness from so many appreciative patients. As I reflect on the past two and a half decades, I could not have chosen a better, more meaningful career.
Education and continuing education
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology – St. John's University
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Columbia University
My continuing education gives me the ability to provide the best care to my patients. In cosmetic dentistry, it is vital to know the latest procedures and be up to date on the most effective treatment options. As a part of my continuing education and dedication to the field of dentistry, I am also an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Outside the office
I have been proud to have lived in New York City for about 30 years. My husband works in the financial field, and we have a beautiful ten-year-old daughter. My free time is spent with my family, reading, traveling, and listening to music.
As a hobby, I love to be involved in missions that help others. Recently I have utilized my background in politics and my experience in the health industry to help bring awareness to a medical mission in Liberia, Africa. I have also taken on many projects locally, through community gardens and scholarship programs that serve underprivileged students and Mineola High School. I am also the founder of the Real Unity Project, a local charity group.
